The Twelve Healers Bach Flower Remedies

Edward Bach highlighted 12 flowers, which I call "the twelve curators”. They represent the twelve personality types. Each "healer" is a basic emotion that defines what is the lesson to be learned and what are the obstacles that must be overcome.
We invite you to discover the tools to know, accept and heal in an environment surrounded by nature and accompanied by an excellent professional: Stefani Servetto Goyeni.

The Four-Fold Way of the Shaman: Walking the Paths of the Warror Teacher, Healer and Visionary.

In order to live in true harmony with ourselves and our environment, we must integrate the inner power of the warrior, healer, visionary, and teacher into our lives. When we fully develop the power of these four archetypes, we are on the 'fourfold path'.

Workshop with Freddy Castro
Fees: $ 1500 per Workshop
Infos: e-mail: parqueyatay@gmail.com

The Workshop "The Fourfold Way of the Shaman" is a cycle with four workshops, one workshop per month.

1. Workshop: Archetype of the warrior

Biochar - Terra Preta

From the book "Biochar for Home Gardeners - a Guide to Producing, Charging and Applying Biochar to Dramatically Improve Soil and Plant-Health" by Jeff Fry

Biochar Foodweb

The soil food web is the community of organisms living all or part of their lives in the soil. It describes a complex living system in the soil and how it interacts with the environment, plants, and animals.
Biochar increases water-retention, vastly improves the soil's ability to hold onto nutrients and builds healthy soil biology, also known as the soil food web.
Terra Preta biochar soils of the Amazon are thousands of years old.
Biochar of excellent quality can be made at home with rudimentary equipment

Water retention

The addition of biochar to the soil boosts water-holding capacity thanks to its porous structure and its huge surface area. It doubles water retention in loamy sand soil.

How to make biochar

Pyrolysis: thermochemical decomposition of organic material at elevated temperatures in the absence of oxygen.
The Pit and the Kon-tiki Cone Kiln
The biochar researchers Hans Schmidt and Paul Taylor wanted to show how our ancestors were able to produce large quantities of biochar with apparent ease.
Looking at the observations of Archaeologists who saw biochar deposits in clearly demarcated cone-shaped pits - five feet deep and six and a half feet wide at the top, they began experimenting with smokeless fires in such roughly conical pits.
As soon as a layer of hot coal at the bottom of the pit has been produced, you can gradually – every five to ten minutes or so - add combustible material.
The flames at the top of the fire eat up the oxygen, leaving the deeper layers to outgas and char instead of burning down into ashes as they would with oxygen.
Once the top layer shows a little white ash, it is time to add the next layer while the previous layer continues to burn without oxygen. At the end it has to be quenched with water.A shovel is all you need.

How to crush the biochar

There are several methods of crushing char. My husband uses the shredder and is very happy with it.

Charging biochar

Adding biochar to your compost is likely the best method for inoculating the biochar with microorganisms and fungi as well as saturating it with nutrients so that it is rich and ready to go when you apply it to your soil. It also helps the composting process.
Biochar also reduces odour and shortens the compost's time to maturity thanks to increased moisture retention and increased microbial activity.

Pee Charging

Charging your biochar with pee is an extremely easy and effective option. Plain biochar in wheelbarrows or buckets will do well, and then all you have left to do is add your pee.
The author lets his become totally soaked, even covered and lets it sit for at least a few days to really let the char become saturated before using it.
Alternatively, pee-charged biochar can be added to your compost pile.

Bio-construction

Years passed by until we could realize our dream - bio construction - adobe huts - natural material - but now we are close to finishing our first two huts.

Our architect for bio-construction sent us three bio-construction workers - that was last year in Mai. (I can't believe that time is flying by so quickly). They were working peacefully and in slow motion, taking advantage a bit too often for their mate break 😏..... only when my husband joined them and did an excellent work, things began to change. Now our good friend and talented construction worker Fabian and his coworker Junior are continuing - and what a good work they do.

However, this blog is about our workshop with the adobe architect Rosario. It was a wonderful experience. The group was adorable, open-minded and absolutely uncomplicated. They all - 20 persons - slept in our community room and had a lot of fun. I take it as a good omen that our first workshop went so smoothly.

Lavalleja, Minas, Ombú-Forest

Camping de los cuervos

We were quite motivated by our friends in Piriapolis to abandon our campo for two days and to join them there. Not only Piriapolis is worth seeing, we also went  to see mystical and really magical places such as the camping "Laguna de los Cuervos". This place is absolutely fascinating. I'm happy that I know the place. It won't be the last time I have been there.

Ombú-Forest, Lavalleja

There are only two Ombú florests in Uruguay — one in Lavalleja and one in Rocha. They reach a height of about 50 feet, and they can live as long as 500 years.

Paraíso Suizo

After visiting Swiss friends in Piriapolis, we passed Paraiso Suizo just at the moment when we went out of gas. We drove through in order to ask for the next gas station, when we met a friendly and cheerful woman who invited us for a coffee. So we could chat about this place and it was just a very nice encounter. Of course, they explained the way to the next gas station in Gregorio Aznárez.

Immigration to Uruguay

Virginia USA

In the year 2003 my husband and I were visiting my daughter Andrea in Virginia. At that time she lived in Goochland with her husband James in a cute little house with a huge deck and lots of land. My husband Ferdinand and I were thrilled because it always had been our dream to own some land and plant trees, bushes and to have our own vegetable garden.  Well - here it was affordable. That's how it all started.

Montevideo

After our trip to Goochland we were considering the possibility of immigrating to the US - but one morning - I was still half asleep - Ferdinand, my husband, looked at me with a twinkle in his eyes. "What??" I asked sleepily.  "Guess what I have dreamed this night?" - Well - how could I possibly know that? He said only one word - MONTEVIDEO. Aha - URUGUAY....We were both very interested in that country and began to learn as much about Uruguay as we could by reading and searching the internet. More and more we were drawn to that country. Finally we just bought a ticket to Montevideo....

Our trip to Uruguay in the year 2010

In 2010 we travelled to Montevideo. We were so excited!!! And it was love at first sight.  We rented a car and drove along the coast to Barra del Chuy, Rio Branco and Lago Merín. I can only recommend this journey. On our trip back we travelled to San José and "coincidentally" ended up in Kiyú. And here - at the beach of Kiyú, below the "Barrancas" both of us knew - that's where we want to live together.

Montevideo

The city of Montevideo, capital of Uruguay, is divided in 62 barrios. Until now my husband and I only know a few of them. Almost half of the population - about 1.5 million - lives in Montevideo. It's one of the safest cities of South America.

Kiyú, Dep. San José, Uruguay

Kiyú is one of the most awesome and relaxing places I have ever met.

When I first came to Kiyú with my husband in 2010, I knew that I wanted to live here. The beautiful scenery, the friendly people, the breathtaking sunsets will open your heart, widen your spirit, regenerate your body and raise your soul.

Paragliding, horseback riding, hiking, fishing, swimming, cycling, bike tours and a lot more - everything is available for your well-being and your pleasure.

The name of Kiyú derives from an indigenous term that means "cricket". Many street names stem from the Guaraní and are mostly related with nature.

The distance from Kiyú to Montevideo is about 70 km. You can reach Buenos Aires by car and the ferry boat in about 2 - 3 hours. The ferry boat leaves from Colonia de Sacramento, which is a pretty little town worth seeing. There are a lot of interesting places which will attract you.

Community in Uruguay - self supply - organic and healthy food - alternative way to live - our campo Parque Yatay

URUGUAY - TE QUIERO

Location:

Our Campo:

We once had a dream to build adobe houses, to grow our own food and to enjoy nature. To produce as little waste as possible and to recycle as much as possible. Now - after some years here in Uruguay and some challenges - we can say, that we have made some progress. It's not easy to grow food here, because the soil is rather loamy. However my husband who doesn't know the word: that will not work, has solved a lot of problems. He produces char coal and makes Tierra Preta. Also mulch is important. Furthermore he builds raised bed gardens and nursery tunnels

Healing herbs in Uruguay

My love for healing herbs brought me to the Garden Nursery Pachamama - the best I have ever seen. It was amazing - but I was CONFUSED. Of course the plants are labelled in Spanish which didn't help me much. I decided to make a course about herbalism at the "Instituto Paracelso". So my knowledge about the plants here in Uruguay and their names increased thanks to our proficient instructor Carlos Guerra who is also the Director of the "Instituto Paracelso". Thank you Carlos! The pictures are published with his kind permission.

You can buy the plants and also trees and shrubs (mainly fruit and berries) at Vivero Pachamama.
